Vishnuvardhan's film named

Jai will be the name of director Vishnuvardhan’s next film. But it is not the name of the film that he is doing with Ajith and Arya in the lead. That still remains untitled.
Jai is the name of the dubbed version of his Telugu flick Panjaa that had Pawan Kalyan in the lead.
‘Jai’ is a crime story starring Pawan Kalyan, Sarah-Jane Dias, Anjali Lavania, Jackie Shroff and Brahmanandham.
The film has Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, PS Vinod’s cinematography and Sreekar Prasad’s editing.
The Telugu version received mixed responses from both general audience and the critics.
Vishnuvardhan is expecting a positive response though, from the Tamil audience and at the box office.

Thuppaki verdict postponed yet again

The issue regarding the title of the A.R.Murugadoss-Vijay film, originally titled 'Thuppakki', continues to remain unsolved.
The interim stay order has been extended till August 1st.

The court wants to hear the Film Chamber's view before taking a final decision on this. The Film chamber is responsible for registering new titles and they have asked for more time to respond.

Hence the delay.

Dhanush And Amala Paul Together Finally

Dhanush finally gets his original 3 girl

Dhanush was supposed to work with Amala Paul in his wife's directorial venture 3. In the same way director Sargunam approached Amala first for his Vaagai Sooda Vaa.
But Amala couldn't accommodate both the above said projects due to her busy dates.
Now the trio is set to work together in a project titled Sottavalakutty. This film is touted to be a romantic comedy and will be produced by Kathiresan who had earlier produced hits like Pollathavan and Aadukalam with Dhanush.
The shoot for Sottavalakutty will commence in September.
Amala recently committed to Nimirndhu Nil opposite Jayam Ravi, as well.

Salman Khan in jail again?

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan might face a jail sentence yet again, that too for up to three years.
The case in question is the black-buck shooting incident which charged him along with his co-stars Tabu, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Saif Ali Khan during their ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ shooting days.
Salman was found guilty under the Wildlife Protection Act on charges of killing two black bucks in 1998. The black buck is a protected species of antelope.
Now the 14 year old case is being examined by the Rajasthan High Court and sources have reported that Salman will be held under Section 51 of Wildlife Act and section 149 of the IPC.
It may be noted that section 51 of the wildlife Act includes a three year jail term. If the court finds Salman guilty, he may land up in jail yet again.

From Billa 2 to Germany

After the musical success of Billa 2, Yuvan Shankar Raja is on a high. He is currently in Germany for the sound mixing of Aadhi Bhagavan, his 5th project with Ameer.
This album is expected to be something fresh like Yuvan's previous association with Ameer, the path breaking Paruthiveeran.

After returning from Germany, Yuvan is planning a world music tour. He also recently rendered his voice for his dad's composition 'Saindhu Saindhu' and one must say that this Neethane En Ponvasantham track is catchy.

Naan Ee Rajamouli is back in Tamil

After the success of his dubbed movies like Maaveeran and Naan Ee, S.S.Rajamouli has become a household name in Kollywood as well. He is known for his impeccable track record in Telugu as all his films have been blockbusters. Eega even crossed the million USD mark in the USA recently.

Now plans are on to bring one of his earlier blockbusters, Chatrapathi released in 2005, to Tamil. Sathish Film Corporation represented by its producer 'Devi Sridevi' Sathish will be releasing Chatrapathi in Tamil as Chandramouli. Sathish had earlier released Sridhar (Oh My Friend in Telugu) all over Tamil Nadu to capitalize on the popularity of Siddharth, Hansika and Shruthi Haasan.

There will be adequate doses of action, sentiment and romance in Chandramouli that stars Prabhas and Shriya in the lead roles. Music has been scored by Maragatha Mani(Keeravani), cinematography by K.K.Senthil Kumar, stunts by Peter Hein and dialogues have been written by M.Ravikumar.

This superhit flick will be released in September all over Tamil Nadu. Posters exclusively showing Rajamouli's face have been adorning the walls of the state, making this a first for a Telugu director. This is a definite indication of the director's growing popularity in Tamil Nadu.

The Ajith - Vishnuvardhan untitled movie had a period of shooting in Mumbai and Bangalore. But, these schedules had to be cut short due to rain and crowd issues respectively.

Now, the unit is stationed in Chennai and will soon be taking off to Mumbai again in the first week of August for a 40 day long schedule. And by October, the shooting is expected to be wrapped up.

As of now, December is the planned release time to coincide with Christmas and New Year. Before that, Ajith's fans are eagerly looking forward to the title of the movie and they have been admiring their Thala's fit look which has been revealed recently.

This movie with a heavy duty star cast is expected eagerly by the industry as it also marks the comeback of A.M.Rathnam to production.

Sivakarthikeyan's as yet untitled film produced by Dhanush got underway yesterday. The first shot was taken by legendary director, Balu Mahendra.
Vetri Maaran and Dhanush were present on the set to wish the team the very best for their upcoming endeavor.
This film is being directed by Senthil, an associate of Vetri Maaran's. Music is by Anirudh and Velraj is handling the cinematography.
Sivakarthikeyan said it was a great experience and thanked Dhanush, Vetri Maaran and Balu Mahendra for making it so special.

Mugamoodi uncle Jiva

Mugamoodi will be an intelligent film that won't insult the audience's intelligence.
Also, there would be less dialogues and more intense action sequences. On the whole, this would be a new experience from director Mysskin.
This is what UTV's Dhananjayan Govind had to say in his micro-blogging page.
He also posted that the unit is flying to Europe to can two songs. Mysskin has already left while Jiiva, Pooja Hegde & crew are leaving on 26th.
This shoot will be spread across 10 days after which the first copy would be readied once the unit returns.
This would mark the first time that Mysskin is shooting abroad for his film.
The final edit is already done while the dubbing is going on now. Looks like Mugamoodi is on track for the planned release on August 31st

kajal's Romance Debut In Bollywood

'Naughty @ 40' actor

Govinda lately hasn’t had the craze he used to have few years ago. Yet he hasn’t lost his hunger to make new films.
The ‘Naughty @ 40’ actor, who last featured in Loot, is ready with a story titled Dhurandar.
Recently a report quoted him saying that after a long hunt for a director, the actor had zeroed upon Rajnish Raj Thakur.
He is also keen to rope in the happening Kajal Aggarwal as his ‘jodi’ in the film.
The film is expected to go on floors after Kajal gives her nod for the project. The actress made her Bollywood debut in the super hit Ajay Devgn starrer Singham.

Shankar and his team were recently at AVM studios, shooting for the mega budget I. Amy Jackson, who plays one of the female leads in the film tweeted that she was done with her first schedule.
Now we hear that a part of the film has a period setting. Shankar had tried this in Indian, in which a part of the story happens during the British rule.
We also hear that the director is trying to convince Deepika Padukone to do the other female lead in the film.
If everything goes well, she will be seen in the second half of the film, say reports.

Krishna Kumar or KK as he is known played one of the villains in Billa 2. In one of the scenes, KK gives Ajith a severe beating and this has outraged fans according to the actor.
While at a screening, they converged on him en masse and threatened him demanding how he could beat up their Thala.
When KK explained that it was just his character and personally he is very fond of Ajith, they cooled down. KK said it made him proud that his character had made such an impact.
The actor who has formerly worked in Deiva Thirumagal said it was an amazing experience to work with Ajith. While shooting, he had hurt his leg and blood started gushing out. Ajith was the first to respond and he wiped the blood with a clean cloth and administered first aid. KK was stunned that such a huge star could be so humble and kind. KK said he is proud to have worked with Ajith. His next film will be Mugamoodi.

Break - in at superstar's house

The Bachchan household suffered a shock when an intruder broke into their private residence, Jalsa on Friday.
The Bollywood superstar blogged about it, "Spent some anxious moments yesterday since we had a break in!
The guy was caught and is with the police now under investigation." The intruder has been identified by the police and his name is Dileep Kevat.
The police and the actor's own security personnel were responsible for apprehending the offender. A case of house-breaking has been registered against Dileep Kevat.

Ajith gets Rana

Vishnuvardhan’s untitled flick already brags about its very rich cast list comprising of Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara, Taapsee, Mahesh Manjrekar, Atul Kulkarni and Suman Ranganathan.
Now to join the list is Tollywood star Rana Daggubati. Vishnuvardhan has supposedly narrated Rana’s part in the film and according to reports, the actor was pretty impressed.
He is expected to sign on the dotted lines soon.
Rana also has ‘Vaanam’ fame Krish’s next bilingual Onkaram (Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum in Telugu) opposite Nayanthara.
The team is presently shooting the climax of the film at Binny Mills, Chennai.

Vikram's Thaandavam on August 15th?

The shoot for the Vikram starrer Thaandavam was completed a month back. Now the producers of the film have confirmed that the music of the film is ready too. “@gvprakash finished the master of Thaandavam and he is handing over the master tomorrow.
We are excited to commence the work on the music release,” said Dhananjayan Govind, producer of Thaandavam.
UTV Motion Pictures is also planning to hold the audio launch in a bigger venue, so as to accommodate more Vikram fans. Dhananjayan added,
“On the request of several fans, we are looking at 15th August evening as an option (not final) as the Thaandavam music release date.”

Ajith calls his next director

Ajith had committed to do a movie with director Siva of Siruthai fame, a few months back. Vijaya Vahini Productions were to produce this venture. But, there was a lull in this project as Ajith got busy with Billa 2 and later with the Vishnuvardhan movie which is currently being shot.
At this juncture, Siva got a call few days back from Ajith who asked him to polish the script even more and make it more viable. Siva was understandably elated at this call and now he is busy making his script even more gripping.
Fans are also eagerly expecting a commercial masala movie from their Thala. This Siva project should satisfy their wishes

WWE superstars John Cena/Stone Cold vs. Jayam Ravi?

K-town directors nowadays are eying foreign stars to feature in their films. AR Murugadoss had cast Johnny Tri Nguyen in his sci-fi 7aum Arivu;
SP Jananathan had roped in Ronald Kickinger in his Jayam Ravi starrer Peranmai;
Hari is scouting for a South African actor for his Singam 2;
Gautham Menon is trying to rope in an American actress to pair up opposite Vijay in Yohan; the British dame Amy Jackson is having a good time in Kollywood.
And now to join the list is director Kalyana Krishnan, who is supposedly trying to rope in either John Cena or Stone Cold Steve Austin in his upcoming film Boologam starring Jayam Ravi.
It must be noted that both John Cena and Steve Austin are well known WWE superstars, who have a large fan base in India. So we can expect spectacular fight sequences, considering that Jayam Ravi too is a boxer in the film.
Boologam has Trisha playing Ravi’s love interest and Prakash Raj, Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu starring in supporting roles.

Billa 2 is Ferrari Thuppaki is Lambhorgini

Vidyut Jamwal, the stylish villain of Billa 2 is currently in demand because he is also doing Thuppaki with Vijay and everyone wants him to do a comparative analysis of the two stars.
Earlier he had said that Ajith is grounded and Vijay is cool and shared his experiences with both Ajith and Vijay.
Now people are asking him to compare the two movies - Billa 2 and Thuppaki.
The rising star adroitly fielded the questions by saying that "Billa 2 is Ferrari and Thuppaki is Lambhorgini". Clearly one thing he has learned from Ajith and Vijay is diplomacy

"Anything 4 nanba, " says Vijay

While Jiiva and Vijay were shooting for Nanban, a good friendship developed between the two.
In fact Vijay, revealed that Jiiva used to have everyone in splits with his jokes and he will keep talking and laughing even when they were getting ready for a shot.
But the moment the camera is turned on his expression will become serious and he used to deliver the perfect shot.
Vijay himself used to find it difficult to stop laughing and finally had to ask Jiiva to let him concentrate.

Their friendship continues even now and recently it was announced that Vijay will launch the audio for Jiiva's Mugamoodi.
Jiiva thanked Vijay for accepting his invitation. The actor said that he had just sent a text to Vijay who replied "'anything 4 nanba". Jiiva was very touched and overwhelmed by Vijay's kind words and acceptance of his informal invitation.

Billa 2 only in theaters

Billa 2 had a couple of raunchy numbers, the popular 'Madura Ponnu' and a belly dance number late into the second half.
Now, these two songs will be available only in the theatrical release prints as they have been deemed unfit by the censor board for television showcase.
So rush to the theaters soon to catch a glimpse of these two thumping dance numbers. Earlier we had also reported that the 'Idhayam' number will be included from tomorrow onwards in all theaters.

It seems the grandeur of Billa 2 can be appreciated fully only in theatres.

Venkat Prabhu adds Cocktail to his Biriyani

Venkat Prabhu recently launched his next project with Karthi and Richa Gangopadhyay, titled Biriyani.
This film is touted to be a suspense thriller and the script requires another heroine. Venkat tried to rope in Samantha, Ileana and later Parineeti Chopra, but in vain.
Now, he has set his eyes on the Cocktail star Diana Penty.

This agreement is not yet official but, things are moving in the right direction. The shoot is scheduled to start next month only, even though this film's technical crew is firmly in place.

Now, we have an exotic biriyani cocktail combo.

Mankatha's opening shot; Dhayanidhi's sentiment

Remember Ajith’s grand opening in Mankatha, where he comes flying in a car and lands before the foes? The film’s producer, Dhayanidhi Alagiri was recently at the same location where that opening scene was made, but for a different reason.
Cloud Nine’s next venture, Thagararu starring Dhayanidhi’s cousin Arulnidhi has started rolling.
The first day’s shoot was canned at the same location where Ajith’s establishing shot in Mankatha was made.

When questioned why this particular location, the producer termed it as “sentimental”. Thagararu is being directed by Ganesh Vinayak and features Poorna as the female lead.

Kolaveri Anirudh wows MTV

'Kolaveri' fame Anirudh has another feather in his cap now as his track 'Ai Dil' for MTV'S Rush, a popular TV show, has made the right connect with the youth. Anirudh even sang this song on the show.
His victory run continues as his tracks for 3 have been ruling the roost for a long time. He also has Bejoy Nambiar's David in hand. Avenues are fast opening up for this talented youngster.

Vijay is cool, Ajith is grounded

Billa 2’s stylish villain from the north, Vidyut Jamwal is still cherishing those days he spent shooting for Billa 2, alongside Ajith. In a recent interview, the Force actor said, “I can never forget those 22 days I spent with Ajith.
He is such a down to earth man. When I joined the team I was one film old and Ajith played a major part in keeping me comfortable and helping me understand the industry.”

The fitness freek is also awaiting the release of Vijay starrer Thuppakki. “Vijay is such a cool guy,” adds VIdyut. Meanwhile, the hearing of the title issue of Thuppakki has been postponed to July 19th.

The teaser trailer can be expected to be released in another week.

Sherlyn Chopra, seen in films like Time Pass and Game has just returned to India after doing a covergirl photoshoot for Playboy. The starlet has grabbed eyeballs and headlines for being the first Indian to be featured in the magazine.

Chopra said she was not uncomfortable posing nude as she has a great body and everyone made her feel at ease.

She was excited that she got to meet and interact with the famous Hugh Hefner and other playmates like Ava Fabian. Now she is hoping that things will perk up for her on the career front and promising films and ads will come her way.

The actress said that she doesn't mind doing nude scenes either provided the script and pay are good

A South African villain for Suriya's Singam 2

All of a sudden K-town directors are eyeing for foreign stars for their film. Billa 2 had few Brazilian actresses,
Gautham Menon is hunting for an American lass to be Vijay’s pair in Yohan, the British beauty Amy Jackson is waiting for Thaandavam to release and also has Shankar’s I in her pocket.

Now to join the club is director Hari. His Singam 2 starring Suriya will see a South African actor sporting the role of a villain.

Hari soon will be off to South Africa to an audition for the part. This sequel will also have Bollywood actor Mukesh Rishi as another bad guy.

Gautham Menon's Jiva in NEP teaser soon

Gautham Menon’s upcoming romantic film Neethane En Ponvasantham, which has Jiiva and Samantha in the lead has been long in the making.
The director has also been reminding the people about his film, by releasing tidbits from it now and then.

He had released a video and an audio teaser (Saindhu Saindhu) few days back, which instantly became a big hit over the internet.

Now the director has decided to release the video of the song Saindhu Saindhu that was crooned by Yuvan Shankar Raja, for his dad Ilayaraja, on Sunday, July 22nd.

Billa 2 distributor gets heart attack

Billa 2 has received mixed reviews among the film buffs. But collection in the Tamil Nadu box office has been very impressive. This much awaited movie earned over Rs 17 crore in the first weekend.
But the Kerala coffer seems to be pretty unhappy with the progress. The distributors bought the film for Rs 1.5 crore. Now they feel that they will end up in a loss.

The news is that, the film’s Kerala distributor has been hospitalised following a heart attack. We hear that the distributor was looking at the collection report, when he went down

It's Priyanka Chopra's day today!

Former Miss World and current Bollywood hotshot, Priyanka Chopra celebrates her 30th birthday today. This year has been mixed for Priyanka with a blockbuster in Agneepath and a dud in Teri Meri Kahaani

She has many successful films to her credit like Don 1 and 2, Krrish and Fashion, for which she earned the National Award as well. Tamil audiences haven't seen much of her after Thamizhan with Vijay way back in 2002. She is super hot in the endorsement circuit as well.

Santhanam to make Hand Made films

Santhanam recently launched his own production house and their first movie was also launched with Santhanam and Dr.Srinivasan in the lead. The name of his concern is
"Hand Made Films" which one must say is a curious title.

Santhanam reiterated the name of his production house after it was wrongly mentioned as "Hand Pad" films by some media houses.

Post Biriyani and Singam 2

Recently Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani was launched with Suriya's younger brother Karthi and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead. This Studio Green production has already started its shoot.
Before this, there were rumors that Suriya was to work with the Mankatha director. When Karthi suddenly bagged this project, many people felt that he had replaced his elder brother

But in fact Biriyani is a different script and the proposed script for Suriya is another one. So the Venkat-Suriya project is definitely ON, and once Biriyani and Singam 2 are done with, this project might bear fruition. Fingers crossed till then.

An addition to Billa 2

Audiences who have seen Billa 2 till now must have noticed that the melodious 'Idhayam' song sung by Shwetha Pandit wasn't featured in the movie. Fearing a lag in the action, the makers decided to chop off that song in the Indian release prints.
But, overseas prints have featured this song.

Now, the makers have decided to include this song from the second week so that audiences have something new to look forward to. Behind the scenes footage is also going to be released this week to add some extra zing to the promotions.

Looks like the producers of Billa 2 are relentless to ensure that their movie is a wholesome treat to the audience

Vijay's Yohan will have sequels

Vijay is almost done with Thuppakki, with just two more songs left. But the buzz for his next action thriller, Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru for Gautham Menon has already started.
The shoot for the film is expected to start very soon. We now hear that Yohan will also have sequels.
It was earlier reported that Shruthi Haasan will pair up with Vijay in this film, which the makers have dusted away as rumours. Gautham Menon is reportedly hunting for a Hollywood lass to be a part of the film.

Yohan and its follow ups will entirely be shot in foreign locations. The first part, Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru will be shot in the Great Britain.

7 years old girl for Kamal

Kamal Haasan generally makes it a point to give solid roles to all his heroines. All lead ladies who have worked with the legend vouch for the immense learning experience.
Now, for his Hollywood debut with producer Barrie Osborne, Kamal is scouting for a 7 yrs old American girl, who will be seen all along with Kamal in this movie. This girl is expected to look cute and act well.

With Kamal being a child prodigy himself, we can expect him to mould this child to perfection. Barrie is also double pleased with this development after being bowled over by Kamal's story narration, earlier. Whether it's a young lady or a young girl, expect Kamal to extract the best from any talent that works with him.

Billa 2's box-office status in TN

Billa 2, despite getting a lot of mixed reviews from critics and fans alike, has opened very well thanks solely to Ajith's star power. His fans thronged theaters on all the 3 days of the opening weekend and the average theater occupancy was an astonishing 95%.
Considering the fact that there are no comedy elements, duets, romance track and other popular mainstream elements, with sole focus on bloody action, this opening gains more prominence. The supporting cast is also new to Tamil cinema.

The film, according to sources, has netted 19 crores over the opening weekend in TN alone, after considering the tax cuts. The figure for the rest of the world is yet to arrive. On the whole, Ajith has lived up to his 'King of Opening' tag yet again unfailingly and his fan following continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

Shruti Haasan removed?

A few days ago, the buzz was that Shruti Haasan had been roped in for Prabhu Deva's Hindi remake of Nuvvostanante Nenodhantana to be produced by Tips and with Taurani's son, Girish as the hero.
Now the producers have said that she has not been finalized and the heroine will be announced only next week.
Shruti is not tensed however as she is currently excited about her big television debut. She will be a part of MTV Rush, a 13 - part film series directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
It will be aired from July 15th. She will be performing some of her original compositions on stage for this show. Shruti loves the concept and is waiting to see how her portions have been worked into the show.

Vijay's Diwali date

Vijay's upcoming movie with A.R.Murugadoss has been facing a lot of problems. First, there was the issue of Vijay smoking a cigar in the first look poster and later the title Thuppaki itself ran into a roadblock with another person claiming ownership of the title.

Now the talkie portions of the movie have been completed and just a couple of songs remain to be canned. Once the title issue is sorted out, promotional activities will be started and a decision on the release date would be taken by producer Dhanu.

As of now, the most likely release date is Diwali and that too a solo release. Vijay's previous Diwali releases like Sivakasi, Shajahan, Thirumalai and Velayudham have worked well at the box-office. Will the charm continue for Thuppaki?

The Batman's OKOK connection

The Dark Knight Rises is getting ready to release on July 20 in India. This Christopher Nolan feature is the conclusion to his epic Batman movie series and is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008).
The Dark Knight (TDK) has a cult fan following thanks to the tremendous success of the 2008 edition. The late Heath Ledger was primarily responsible for this fan rage thanks to his crazy act as The Joker. Christian Bale has been playing the Batman with aplomb since 2005.

Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman will be seen in the latest edition as well while Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy join this ensemble cast for TDK Rises. There is a Kollywood connection to this Batman movie as Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies will be distributing this film in Tamil Nadu.
The OKOK actor is fresh from his successful debut as a lead actor and would be looking to keep his banner's enviable success record intact. It must be noted that most of Red Giant Movies' ventures have been superhits. And with TDK Rises, we can expect their track record to be furthered.

Billa 2 released yesterday all over the world and audiences in Qatar got to see the movie on Thursday night itself. The crowd was huge for that premier show and the police could not handle it.

Talking about Chennai, fans spent close to 1.5 lakhs to buy a huge garland to decorate Ajith's cutout in Albert theater. 16 fans from Bangalore brought this big garland all the way, just to celebrate Billa 2's release in Chennai.
They spent close to 15000 for transporting this garland. Talk of fan frenzy again.

I can make a film with Rajinikanth: KV Anand

Recently, there have been reports wandering around the tinsel town whispering that KV Anand has narrated a script to Rajinikanth,
which the superstar was very impressed with. The Maatraan director has washed away these reports as mere rumours.

The director clarified, “I can surely make a film with the Superstar. I’m just afraid that I will fail to impress his fans.”
His Maatraan is in its last leg of the shoot, with just one more song pending. The teaser, which was released recently, has earned Suriya immense appreciation for the efforts he has taken to act as conjoined twins.
